Curated by Bianca Acimovic, the 2021 landmark exhibition Now That We're Here: 10 Years of Contemporary Painting at the Rockhampton Art Gallery celebrated a decade of significant acquisitions and artistic evolution within the institution's collection. Held in the gallery’s historic Victoria Parade building shortly before its major relocation, the showcase highlighted pivotal modern masterworks alongside a notable catalogue essay focused on the psychedelic landscape contributions of Australian contemporary painter Kate Shaw. The exhibition brought together a prestigious national roster of artists, including Ben Quilty, Del Kathryn Barton, Michael Zavros, Abdul Abdullah, Tony Albert, Richard Bell, Julie Fragar, Gordon Hookey, Victoria Reichelt, Monica Rohan, Gareth Sansom, Wendy Sharpe, and Imants Tillers, cementing the regional gallery's footprint in Australia's modern art legacy.
